IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to download the software you purchased per the instructions in your order confirmation email. Follow these instructions instead. If you already have a free trial download, there is no need to download again. Once you install the software, you have 30 days to activate it. You must register it, include your order # (in the confirmation email), and you will receive an activation key by email withing 24 to 48 hours.



Linux

To install on your server:

Download - Log on as ‘root’ and download the following file into a directory where you want to install the product (e.g., /appgen):

MybooksPro62_Linux.tar.gz ~approx 67 Meg

 

Install - Next, while logged in as root and from a terminal session:

- set your umask:

----------umask 000

- go to the directory in which the downloaded files are located (e.g., cd /appgen)

- uncompress the file:

--------- MybooksPro62_Linux.tar.gz

   

Configure - Run the MyBooks Professional setup program:

----------./Setup.sh

When this program finishes, a MyBooksPro icon should appear on your desktop. If you do not see it (as is frequently the case with the Gnome desktop) you need to refresh your desktop. On the Gnome desktop, simply right click anywhere on your desktop, and select Rescan Desktop.

   

Start Up - Simply click on the MyBooksPro icon on your desktop.

To install the MyBooks Professional Client on your Linux workstation:

Note: If you are running MyBooks Professional on one machine, you don't need to install the MyBooks Professional Client

Install - Next, while logged in as root and from a terminal session:

- set your umask:

----------umask 000

- go to the directory in which the downloaded files are located (e.g., cd /appgen)

----------MybooksPro62client_Linux.tar.gz

   

Configure - Run the MyBooks Professional setup program:

----------./Setup.sh

To start up MyBooks Professional:

Start Up - Simply click on the MyBooksPro icon on your desktop and specify the IP address of the server to which you want to connect.

NOTE: Before you can connect successfully to the server, the MyBooks Professional server daemon must be started on the server. To do so log on to the server as 'root' , go to the Appgen base directory, and type:

./agdaemon.sh
